Video Engagement Platform SundaySky Raises $30M in Series D Funding

sunday-skySundaySky, a New York City-based provider of a personalized video engagement platform for brands, completed its Series D financing round raising an additional $30m.

The round was led by new investor Viola Private Equity with participation from existing investors Carmel Ventures, Globespan Capital Partners, Norwest Venture Partners, Comcast Ventures as well as NTT DOCOMO Ventures – the venture capital arm of NTT DOCOMO, Inc., Japan’s leading mobile operator and a SundaySky customer. In conjunction with the funding, Viola Private Equity General Partner Ayal Shiran will join the company’s board of directors while Rami Hadar, former president and CEO of Allot Communications Ltd. (NASDAQ, TASE: ALLT), will assume the role of executive chairman.

The company, which has raised $67m in total, intends to use the funds to scale global growth and support continued product innovation.

Led by Shmulik Weller, co-founder and CEO, SundaySky provides a platform, built on proprietary SmartVideo technology, which lets marketers communicate to an audience and create, manage and optimize real-time personalized video programs throughout the customer lifecycle.
Brands using the platform include AT&T, Citi, Comcast and other leading companies in telecommunications, e-commerce, insurance, banking, healthcare and other industries.

The company also has with offices in Tel Aviv and Tokyo.
