Kin Community, a Santa Monica, CA-based home-focused content brand and creator community, raised $13.5m in Series D financing.
The round was led by Emil Capital Partners, with participation from Corus Entertainment (Canada), Allure Media (Australia) and TEGNA (US).
The company intends to use the funds to increase original content production and distribution across social, OTT and traditional media platforms, continue global expansion into new markets including Australia and the UK, and invest in global sales, marketing and partner management infrastructure.
Founded in 2007 by CEO Michael Wayne, Kin Community is a digital media company that informs young women around the world through home-focused content and community. Kin Studios produces video content in categories that include food, home, and DIY while the Kin Community multi-platform network features more than 120 lifestyle content creators including Rosanna Pansino (Nerdy Nummies), Hannah Hart (MyHarto), Jenn Im (Clothes Encounters), Lauren Riihimaki (LaurDIY) and Rachel and Byron Talbott. It has more than 170 million social followers and generates more than 600 million video views monthly.
