Meal Delivery Service Freshly Closes $21M Series B Funding

freshlyFreshly, a NYC-based subscription meal delivery service, closed a $21m Series B funding.

The round was led by Insight Venture Partners with participation from existing investors Highland Capital Partners and White Star Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to increase hiring efforts and expand distribution to all 50 states.

Launched in January 2015 by Michael Wystrach, CEO, Freshly provides a chef-prepared meal delivery service. Every meal – delivered in recyclable packaging – is packed with high-quality proteins, fats, and nutrient-dense carbohydrates, and free of refined sugars, gluten, and artificial ingredients and arrives fresh (no frozen) and ready to eat in minutes.

Active in 28 states, the service now ships close to 250,000 meals per month. The company has over 160 employees.
