Farmer’s Business Network, Inc., a San Carlos, Calif.-based independent farmer-to-farmer network, raised $20m in funding.
The round was led by Acre Venture Partners, with participation from Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers LLP, GV (formerly Google Ventures), and DBL Partners.
The company, which has raised nearly $48m in funding, intends to use the funds to further expand its farmer network, farm analytics and FBN Procurement Services.
Launched commercially in 2015, FBN is an independent network which connects farmers to share farm data and gain insights and make improved agronomic and financial decisions. FBN members receive analytics on seed performance, agronomic practices, input prices, and yield benchmarking based on over 55 million acre-events of real world data from the FBN community of farms.
The FBN Procurement Services works directly with input manufacturers to deliver members reduced input prices, which are published online. It will expand the service nationally this year while also adding other product lines beyond ag chemicals.
