Quip, a San Francisco, CA-based team productivity tool maker, has been acquired by Salesforce (NYSE: CRM).
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
As part of Salesforce, Quip will continue to expand its service and extend the features of the Salesforce Customer Success Platform.
Co-founded in 2012 by Bret Taylor and Kevin Gibbs, Quip is a productivity platform that combines docs, spreadsheets, and communication tools into a single chat-like “thread” of updates to facilitate team work and collaboration across a variety of devices and locations.
Customers include Facebook, New Relic, Instacart, Al Jazeera, Product Hunt, and Pinterest, among others.
