Baroo, a Boston, MA – based pet concierge service, raised $2.25m in seed funding.
The round was led by Jordanna Schutz’s Birchaven Group with participation Crimson Peak, Krillion Ventures, Sueco and The Graduate Syndicate, a fund managed by Flybridge Capital Partner’s General Partner Jeff Bussgang.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its presence in existing markets and expand into new cities.
Led by Lindsay Hyde, co-founder and CEO, Baroo is a full-service pet concierge which operates in urban, luxury multifamily properties in premier cities across the U.S. It offers customizable, on-demand pet-care services, including a variety of dog walk or run programs, in-home pet sitting, feeding, vet visits and training. The company also hosts a variety of pet events such as Yappy Hours and themed holiday parties in collaboration with each respective partner property.
Initially launched in Boston in 2014, Baroo subsequently has scaled to Washington, D.C. and Chicago. It today offers services to more than 50,000 residents nationwide.
