IrisVR, a New York City-based virtual reality company for architecture, raised $8m in Series A funding.
The round was led by Emergence Capital with participation from Azure Capital Partners, Indicator Ventures, Valar Ventures, Pritzker Group Venture Capital, Locke Mountain Ventures and Morningside Group.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to develop the products.
Led by founder and CEO Shane Scranton, IrisVR provides architecture professionals with tools to convert and view 3D SketchUp, Revit and BIM models into Virtual Reality experiences. In particular, its products include Prospect, which enables users to convert 3D plans into VR experiences for Oculus Rift, GearVR, HTC Vive, and Cardboard and Iris Scope, which converts panoramic images into VR experiences on mobile phones.
