Shopify Inc. (NYSE:SHOP)(TSX:SH), an Ottawa, Canada-based cloud multi-channel commerce platform for small and medium-sized businesses, acquired Boltmade, Inc., a Waterloo, Ontario-based product design and development consultancy.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition of Boltmade will enable Shopify to accelerate the development of its the Shopify Plus product offering, which provides high-volume merchants a cloud-based, fully hosted enterprise commerce platform, without the limitations of legacy solutions.
Founded in 2013 by Jim Murphy, President, Boltmade is a 21-person product-focused digital consulting firm that designs and builds software products for early stage startups to Fortune 500 companies.
The Boltmade team will join the Shopify Plus office in Waterloo.
