Tribe Closes $3M Seed Funding Round

-

tribe-logoTribe, a San Francisco, CA-based video group messaging app, closed a $3m seed funding round.

Backers included Sequoia Capital, Ludlow Ventures, Partech Ventures, and Kima Ventures.

Led by Cyril Paglino, CEO and Founder, Tribe is advancing an asynchronous video messaging platform with value added features such as “Augmented Messaging”. Powered by natural language processing and voice analysis, the app recognizes spoken keywords (a celebrity, brand, or destination mentioned in a recorded video), which are clickable, giving the recipient instant access to content around them. For example, if a singer is mentioned, his Vine, YouTube, and Spotify content are auto-populated onto the user’s screen.

Founded in August 2015, Tribe has connected over 500,000 users during its beta period.
The company currently has a team of 8.
