Veritas Genetics, a Boston, MA-based provider of genetic tests, raised $30m in Series B funding.
The round was led by new investors Trustbridge Partners and Jiangsu Simcere Pharmaceutical with participation from existing backer Lilly Asia Ventures.
The company, which has raised $42m in total funding to date, intends to use the capital to expand its product portfolio and operations, enhance the consumer digital experience and sign partnerships with hospitals and researchers globally.
Co-founded in 2014 by Harvard Medical School Professor and genetics pioneer Dr. George Church, Mirza Cifric, CEO, Preston Estep III, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer, and Jonathan Zhao, PhD, managing director Asia, Veritas Genetics provides whole genome sequencing as well as targeted genetic screening tests in hereditary cancer and reproductive health.
The company, which operates globally from its offices in the U.S., Europe and China, has just added:
– Tim Smith as Chief Operating Officer,
– Rodrigo Martinez as Chief Marketing and Design Officer, and
– Doug Flood as Chief Commercial Officer.
