Vkansee Raises $10M in Funding

vkansee-logoVkansee, the NYC- and Shenzen, China-based creator of an under-glass and patented and ultra-thin optical fingerprint sensor, raised $10m in funding.

Backers included Infotech Ventures, Yunnan Huizhong Fund, Shenzhen Qianhai Greatwall Fund and Superpix Micro Technology.

The company, which has raised $12m in total funding, intends to use the capital to conduct R&D activities, develop new products and manufacture and distribute its sensor to meet demand for higher biometric authentication security on laptops, phones and other mobile devices. Immediately, the funding will support the production of test wafers for manufacturers and suppliers to evaluate the sensors for device integration in 2017.

Led by president Jason Chaikin, Vkansee develops a secure under-glass patented and ultra-thin optical fingerprint sensor which enables mobile security for payment applications, data storage, access control, etc., across a variety of mobile and connected devices.
The company has 32 employees across offices in Beijing, Shenzhen and New York.
