Audio Analytic, a Cambridge, England, UK-based AI powered smart home sound recognition company, closed a $5.5m Series A funding round.
The round was led by Cambridge Innovation Capital with participation from IQ Capital, Rockspring, Cambridge Angels and Martlet.
The company intends to use the funds to scale the team doubling to 50 employees within the next 12 months and introduce new sound profiles and features to the growing ai3™ platform.
Founded in 2008 by Dr. Chris Mitchell, CEO, Audio Analytic has developed and provides ai3™ software, an intelligent sound recognition system which uses advanced machine learning to enable devices to recognise significant sounds and take automated action.
The company works with Smart Home original equipment manufacturers and chip companies, with a range of consumer devices containing ai3™ software already in the market and more slated to launch in 2017.
Audio Analytic also has offices in San Jose, CA.
