Dwolla, a Des Moines, Iowa-based digital payments company, raised $6.9m in funding.
The round was led by Union Square Ventures and Foundry Group with participation from Next Level Ventures, Ludlow Ventures, High Alpha, Firebrand Ventures, and Detroit Venture Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to expand sales and account management operations in Des Moines (read here).
Founded by CEO Ben Milne, Dwolla provides real-time payments, bank transfers, and tokenization solutions as well as The Access API which connects third-party applications to the U.S. banking infrastructure.
