Eight, a NYC-based technology company focused on improving sleep, closed an additional $5M in funding.
The round, which brought total funding raised to $11M, included Yunqi Partners, Azure Capital, Y Combinator, Stanford StartX fund, Comcast Ventures, and Sinovation Ventures as backers.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to invest in its solutions.
Led by Matteo Franceschetti, CEO, Eight provides the Eight Sleep Tracker, a smart mattress cover that slips over an existing mattress to collect biometric and environmental data in order to deliver personalized solutions for tracking and improving sleep. In November 2016, the company launched its second product, the Eight Smart Mattress, designed with four layers of responsive and high-density foam plus a technology layer that tracks sleep metrics, warms each side of the bed individually, and connects to other smart home devices. The companion app provides feedback to users on each night of sleep, and allows for integration with other smart products to regulate bed temperature, lights, door locks, and more, in real time.
Eight is opening its first showroom in New York.
