HousingAnywhere.com, a Rotterdam, the Netherlands-based international student housing platform, raised €5m in funding.
Backers included Real Web, the owner of Italian real estate site Immobiliare.it, and Dutch VC firm henQ.
The company intends to use the funds to expand into university cities in Western Europe and the US.
Led by founder Niels Van Deuren, HousingAnywhere.com is an online student housing platform, for exchange, internship, volunteer, or working students. It allows international students looking for accommodation to book a room and outgoing exchange students, verified local landlords, social and commercial housing operators to advertise a room on offer.
The platform currently has 100,000 listed vacant properties.
