Raine Ventures, the venture capital arm of The Raine Group, a global merchant bank focused exclusively on technology, media, and telecommunications, reportedly raised its $100m second fund.
Led by managing partners Gordon Rubenstein, Jeff Sine, Joseph Ravitch, the fund invests in virtual reality, multiplatform premium content, gaming infrastructure and e-sports companies.
The vehicle has already invested in Mobcrush, a mobile-first live streaming app and community for gamers, Kite and Lightning, a cinematic virtual reality startup, Vettery, a talent platform for technology and financial services, Waggle, a media company publishing original pet and animal content, Pixvana, a virtual reality technology startup, and Raze, the Latino-focused digital media company launched by Sofia Vergara, Emiliano Calemzuk and Luis Balaguer.
With offices in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, and Shanghai, Raine focuses on investment and advisory opportunities where its industry experience and network of strategic relationships can create value for portfolio companies and clients. Specific sector focus includes online gaming, digital media, sports, live entertainment, and content (music, film, television, education, etc.).
Raine has in excess of $2.5 billion in assets under management.
