Whistle Sports Raises $27.5M in Series C Funding

whistle_sportsWhistle Sports, a global digital entertainment media company, raised $27.5m in Series C funding.

Backers included Beringea, Tegna, Inc., NBC Sports Ventures, Sky and Emil Capital.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate revenue growth while maintaining the rapid expansion of its user base.

Led by John West, CEO, Whistle Sports creates, curates and delivers sports content for fans and brands across multiple social, digital and TV platforms. Since its formal launch in 2014, the company has built a global community that now encompasses over 170 million aggregate subscribers, fans and followers.
The company, which is also launching “Unseen Hours”, a behind-the-scenes look at the training regimes of up-and-coming professional basketball players, also partners with the National Football League, Major League Baseball, NBC Sports, Sky Sports, Verizon go90, and Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Whistle Sports is based in NYC, Dallas, Los Angeles, London, UK.
