SlamData Inc., a Boulder, Colo.-based open source analytics company for modern unstructured data, raised $6.7M in Series A funding.
The round was led by Shasta Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to further develop its analytics solution and expand its executive team,
Led by Jeff Carr, CEO and co-Founder, and John De Goes, CTO & Co-Founder, SlamData provides software that allows users to visually explore, refine, visualize and publish/embed data stored in NoSQL databases, without data relocation, ETL or developer resources.
Its open source supports MongoDB, Couchbase, Marklogic, and Spark/Hadoop.
Th company’s roadmap includes new user interface (UI) features and new data sources featuring real-time and streaming analytics, integration with machine learning providers, RDBMS integration (including RedShift, Oracle, and SQL Server), distributed joins, and high-density interactive data visualizations.
In addition to the funding, Sreeni Iyer is joining the company as senior vice president of Engineering to lead the development of the SlamData platform.
