Avere Systems, a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based provider of data storage solutions, closed a $14m Series E funding.
Backers included existing investors Menlo Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Tenaya Capital and Western Digital Capital, and new investor Google Inc.
The company, which has raised $97m in total funding, intends to use the funds for continued product innovation and expansion of its hybrid cloud product offerings.
Led by Ron Bianchini, president and CEO, Avere Systems provides enterprise IT organizations with data storage solutions that levarages file system and caching technologies speeding access to compute and storage in hybrid environments.
Customers include organizations across such industries as media and entertainment, financial services, technology, manufacturing, healthcare research and government agencies.
