Kubos, a Denton, Texas-based satellite software company, raised $1.6m in funding.
The round was led by Tim Draper of Draper Associates with participation from Draper Dragon, GGV Capital, Autochrome Ventures, and Entrenext Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the reach of its flight software, and to expand Kubos software platform with two new products.
Led by CEO Marshall Culpepper, Kubos develops open source software for satellites featuring mission design and on-board software, hardware test and mission operations in the cloud.
The company is now working to launch two new products including:
– Kubos Hopper, a cloud-based Satellite hardware testing service, and
– Kubos Major Tom, a cloud-based mission operations and data analytics service which offers integration with both cloud based ground network providers and on-site hardware.
