Lighthouse Raises $17M in Funding

-

Lighthouse, a Palo Alto, CA-based AI services company, raised $17m in funding.

Backers included Eclipse Ventures, Playground Global, SignalFire, Felicis Ventures and StartX.

Founded by CEO Alex Teichman, PhD, and CTO Hendrik Dahlkamp, Lighthouse has developed and is now introducing its first product, an interactive assistant that uses deep learning and 3D sensing technology developed as part of the DARPA Grand Challenge to introduce awareness within the home while people are not in, by providing insight to three core things:
– what has happened,
– what is happening, and
– what is happening that shouldn’t be happening.
It distinguishes between adults, children, pets and objects, known and unknown faces, and actions.

Available for pre-order at www.light.house (starting shipping in September), Lighthouse is secured by tamper-proof software, bank-level security and encryption, encrypted logins and passwords, and closed Bluetooth connections after Wi-Fi configuration.
