Paddle, a London, UK-based SaaS ecommerce startup, has merged with MacPaw, the maker of DevMate, a software development and distribution toolkit.
The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
The merging of DevMate into Paddle creates an enhanced platform for software businesses, enabling global sales of their products with an e-commerce solution and providing analytics, crash reporting and marketing tools. As part of the deal, MacPaw has fully integrated its products into the Paddle platform and Oleksandr Kosovan, MacPaw’s founder and CEO, has joined Paddle’s Board of Directors.
Founded in 2012 by Christian Owens, CEO, Paddle gives businesses the opportunity to sell software to customers worldwide by handling sales tax, payment, fraud prevention and checkout recovery as well as providing analytics and marketing tools. It currently has more than 500 customers and last year announced Series A investment of $3.2m led by BGF Ventures with participation from Kindred Capital, bringing funding to date to $5.4m.
Led by founder and CEO Oleksandr Kosovan, MacPaw is a consumer software developer that initially created DevMate as an internal resource because there was no user-friendly toolset to help software developers handle tasks such as licensing, crash reports and feedback and to help them analyse customer data.
