Revolution Prep, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based tutoring and test prep platform, completed a $4m funding round.
The round was led by existing investor Kennet Partners, with participation from several industry veterans. Jeffrey Cohen, chief executive officer of Catapult Learning, and Scott Kirkpatrick, president of General Assembly, will join the Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to drive growth in its latest online learning product, Revolution Math, and advance additional learning tools and innovative programs.
Founded in 2002 and led by CEO Ramit Varma, Revolution Prep is an education software and services provider supporting students in scoring higher on the SAT, ACT, and other exams, while improving basic academic skills. Revolution Math is a platform that incorporates effective learning research such as storytelling, games, small class size and social interaction to engage students with an instructor. The program, offered to kids in 2nd – 5th grade, offers programs in real classroom settings, live online classroom settings, private in-person tutoring, private online tutoring, self-guided online courses, and hybrid courses that combine real classroom courses with in-person tutoring and the self-guided online course.
