Rubica, a San Francisco, CA- and Seattle, WA-based cybersecurity startup, raised $5.6M in seed funding.
Backers included Slow Ventures, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Expa and Upfront Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to expand the reach of its service.
Launched from Concentric Advisors, a consultancy that provides physical and digital security for prominent individuals and led by Roderick Jones, founder and CEO, Rubica leverages cybersecurity experts who use customized machine learning tools to protect individuals, their families and business networks via an app that takes a few minutes to install and works discreetly in the background.
Cybersecurity experts – who bring experience from top organizations like NSA, US Navy and Scotland Yard – also are available as around-the-clock advisors, providing cyber hygiene tips and answering customer questions.
