Aston Barclay, a Chelmsford, UK based independent car auction group, received an investment from Rutland Partners.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Currently operating from four sites in the UK, Aston Barclay is an independent car auction group providing vehicle remarketing services to fleet and dealership vendors.
Owned by the Scarborough family since 1984 an led by Neil Hodson, CEO, the company has invested in recent years in both its auction sites and IT systems. Its new auction site at Donington Park in the East Midlands will initially utilize six acres when it opens in quarter four 2017, growing to 18-acres in 2018.
The Scarborough family will remain on the Board and continue to be significant shareholders in the business.
Laurence Vaughan is also joining the Board and investing as non-executive Chairman. Laurence has extensive automotive sector experience, initially as CEO and currently as non-executive Chairman of Sytner Group, a £5bn turnover dealership group in the UK.
