Codemotion, a Rome, Italy-based provider of technical training, kids’ education, and hackathons along with the main actors in the international technological field, raised €1.5M in funding.
Backers included Barcamper Ventures, Invitalia Ventures and LVenture Group. In conjunction with the funding, Gianluca Dettori, Partner at Barcamper Ventures & Executive Chairman of Primomiglio SGR, will join Codemotion’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to strengthen its community of developers, consolidate the international growth path and broaden its offering.
Founded in 2013 by Chiara Russo and Mara Marzocchi, Codemotion is an innovation hub that offers services for IT professionals and companies through conferences, professional training and open innovation projects such as Codemotion Kids!, a technology school for kids from 8 to 18 years old, structured on an innovative didactic path based on Creative Learning.
The company organizes technical conference for developers in EMEA involving international experts of reference as speakers and Cisco, IBM, Google, Microsoft, Intel, Red Hat and Oracle as major IT players. The conferences are currently organized in 7 countries (Italy, Spain, Holland, Germany, Poland, Israel and the United Arab Emirates) with the participation of over 2,000 professionals from the IT sector in each of the main events.
In the latest 3 years, it has managed more that 35 hackathons for such promoters as Sky, Camera dei Deputati, Agid, Tim, Ferrovie dello Stato and Eni.
Codemotion Training has a catalog of more than 50 courses.
