WhiteSource, a New York and Tel Aviv, Israel—based provider of continuous open source software security and compliance management platform, raised $10M in Series B financing.
The round was led by 83North, with participation from Microsoft Ventures and individual investor David Strohm of Greylock Partners.
The company intends to use the funds to invest in product development and expand the market reach of its open source security and compliance solutions.
Founded by serial entrepreneurs Ron Rymon, Azi Cohen and Rami Sass, WhiteSource provides engineering, security and compliance officers with a complete suite of control, reporting and management to help software teams manage the use of open source components in their software. The platform fully automates all open source management processes: component detection; security vulnerability alerts and fixes; license risk and compliance analysis along with policy enforcement; quality review, and new version alerts.
The solution currently secures and manages open source components of hundreds of enterprises and SMBs around the world.
