Workey, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based AI powered solution for career development and recruitment, closed of an $8m Series A funding.
The round was led by Pico Partners and Magma VC.
The company intends to use the funds to open its first US office in New York City, with hiring already underway.
Co-founded by Ben Reuveni, Danny Shteinberg and Amichai Schreiber in 2015, Workey is an anonymous social recruitment and career enhancement platform, which leverages AI and machine learning to compare a user’s skill set and career history with millions of others, to provide data driven recommendations for smart career moves.
The platform particularly assists those who are not ready to become active job-seekers by offering an anonymous and free service, allowing them to casually explore the job market without commitments or effort. Companies are also able to be active on the site and reach out directly to recommended users and request an introduction, however, it’s up to the user to decide if they wish to reveal their full details, or anonymously reject the approach.
The Series A funding is followed by the completion of a positive Beta phase in Israel and New York, working with over 400 companies including Amazon, Dell EMC, Oracle, and Yahoo. The platform is currently operational in the USA and Israel.
