Yubico Raises $30M in Funding

Yubico, a provider of authentication and encryption hardware for the modern web, raised $30M in in combined secondary and new issue funding.

Backers included New Enterprise Associates (NEA), the Valley Fund, and Bure. Other existing investors include Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, and Ram Shriram, Yubico Chairman and Google founding board member.

The company intends to use the funds for growth of its team across four continents and for new product development.

Led by Stina Ehrensvard, CEO and Founder, Yubico enables secure access to computers, servers, and internet accounts via the YubiKey, which delivers strong hardware protection across systems and online services. The YubiHSM, its ultra-portable hardware security module, protects sensitive data inside standard servers.

Founded in 2007, the company is privately held, with offices in Sweden, UK, Germany, USA, Australia, and Singapore.
