Sightbox, a Portland, Ore.-based annual membership platform for eye exams and contact lenses, raised $2.4m in funding.
Backers included Rogue Venture Partners, Portland Seed Fund, Jumpstart Foundry, Vista River Healthcare, G Ventures and Irish Angels, and undisclosed angels from the U.S.
The company, which has raised $4.2m in total funding, intends to use the capital to expand customer acquisition and hire finance and operations people.
Led by CEO Travis Rush, Sightbox provides people with an annual membership up-front for an eye exam, contact lens fitting, and supply of contact lenses for 12 months. The service costs $39 a month for one year.
