Vidcode, a NY-based video coding platform, raised $1.5m in seed funding.
Backers included ZhenFund, Rethink Education, NYU Ventures, CoVenture, Evan Korth Syndicate, Stephano Kim, Cherry Ventures, and BrainPOP.
The company will use the funds to continue to expand operations.
Led by Melissa Halfon, Vidcode provides a software platform that teaches students computer programming through video-making. Project-oriented lessons allow students to create memes, video filters, interactive games, virtual reality, etc., with real programming languages.
Vidcode is partnered with NYC schools, Facebook VR Education and Snapchat to reach teens all over the world.
