Huddle, a NYC-based video-based peer-to-peer support app for mental health issues, raised $1.2M in seed funding.
The round was led by Thrive Capital.
Founded in 2017 by Tyler Faux and Dan Blackman, Huddle is a video based peer-to-peer support community app for for depression, addiction, stress, self-image and anxiety. Through the use of the front-facing camera, the app allows users to control pixelation on their video posts for identity protection and safety to counteract the anxiety typically associated with traditional social media.
Features include videos and direct messages for the community to stay in touch. The company also has a zero-tolerance policy against negative or destructive behavior, including conversations that are purposely harmful or groups that can be destructive.
The app is available to iOS users worldwide in English.
