Bolt Mobility, an Amsterdam, The Netherlands-based maker of electric scooters, raised over €3m on equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs.
The campaign attracted over 2,000 investors from the UK and the Netherlands. While the majority of the campaign’s investors were UK based, investors from the Netherlands invested more per person on average.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate production to bring its AppScooter to market in 2018.
Founded in 2014 by Marijn Flipse and Bart Jacobsz Rosier, Bolt Mobility is developing AppScooter, an internet-enabled electric scooter, which customers can fully customize with options including: color, motor and battery size, alloys, rims and other extras, including a windscreen.
AppScooter offers the potential to store six battery modules, meaning the scooter can travel as far as 245 miles (400km) on a single charge, is capable of going from 0 to over 25 miles per hour (45km/h) in 3.3 seconds, has a seven inch touchscreen with a 4G internet connection, powered by Vodafone.
