Weedguide, a San Diego, CA-based search platform for the medical and recreational community, secured $1.7m in seed funding.
Backers included San Diego businessman Doug Cerri.
Led by CEO Claudio Cañive, Weedguide leverages machine learning and artificial intelligence to give users personalized recommendations from millions of articles, videos, products, dispensary locations, recipes and strains across the web.
Like other search engines, the platform allows for semantic input and natural language processing but has developed a classification system, which makes it easier to navigate through information and get more relevant results.
Weedguide also employs real world subject matter experts to ensure the most useful and relevant content is displayed.
Weedguide is available for download on the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android.
