Barracuda Networks (NYSE: CUDA), a Campbell, Calif.–based provider of cloud-enabled security and data protection solutions, acquired Sonian Inc., a cloud archiving and analytics company.
The amount of the deal was not released.
This acquisition will deepen Barracuda’s cloud archiving, and email security and management capabilities, as well as expand its channel reach with the addition of key OEM partners.
Led by Tim McKinnon, CEO and president, Sonian provides archiving and analytics capabilities that enable customers to preserve, access and act on communications data, and apply these insights to their business to reduce risks and increase productivity.
Using those insights, businesses can identify potential threats in communications data before they escalate into larger problems.
It serves more than 32,000 customers in 40 countries. Sonian’s ability to identify potential threats in communications data will deepen Barracuda’s security and data protection offerings for customers using Microsoft Office 365 and other cloud platforms.
