According to Reuters, I.am+, a Los Angeles, CA-based startup “whose mission is to create technology hits that create a ripple effect across pop culture“, raised $117m in funding.

The company will use the funds to enter the enterprise market with a voice assistant for customer service.

Founded in 2012 by Black Eyed Peas member, entrepreneur and investor Will.i.am, I.am+ is the maker of bluetooth earphones Buttons and is now involved in advancing and providing Omega, an AI powered customer support chatbot for enterprises.

The company, which now employs approx. 300 people, aims to build additional voice AI products.
