Roomi, a NYC-based shared housing platform, raises $11m in Series A funding.
The round, which brought total funding to $17m, was led by Atami Capital, with participation from new investors include Rosecliff Ventures, Townsquare Media and JXC Ventures and existing investors DCM and Great Oaks Venture Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to expand further in the US and globally.
Led by Ajay Yadav, CEO and Founder, Roomi is a peer-to-peer marketplace enabling users to list their empty rooms and connect with potential roommates.
Today, Roomi has around 1 million registered users and nearly 250,000 rooms listed on their platform.
The company, which is also hosting a crowdfunding campaign on Republic and inviting their users to buy shares, raised $2m in seed funding in 2015.
