Cake Technologies, Inc., a Salt Lake City, UT-based developer of a swipeable browser built specifically for mobile, received $5m in pre-Series A funding.
The round was led by Peak Ventures, with participation from Pelion Venture Partners and Kickstart Seed Fund.
Founded in 2016 by Jase Bosarge, and led by Kendall Hulet, CEO, Cake Technologies focuses on making the web more accessible on mobile via a purpose built browser which gives back swipeable search results, broader search results across categories and multiple services, which pull more results in images, videos, news, and shopping, personalized searches which allow users to choose their preferred search engine (Google or Bing) and reorder their favorite sites within a category (like news, videos, images or online shopping) and cut through the clutter of generic search results by curating collections of websites that are most relevant to their search term.
Cake is available for free in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store for users worldwide.
