Eta Compute Inc., a Westlake Village, Calif.-based company focused on delivering 3rd generation machine intelligence to mobile and edge devices, completed an $8m Series A round of financing.
The round was led by Walden International with participation from Acorn Pacific Ventures and Walden Riverwood Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate machine intelligence hardware platform and AI applications.
Founded in 2015 by Gopal Raghavan, CEO, and Dr. Narayan Srinivasa, Chief Technology Officer, Eta Compute aims to enable the 3rd generation of neural networks based on Spiking Neural Networks (SNN), which deliver machine intelligence based on biologically-realistic models of neurons to carry out brain inspired computation techniques.
The company leverages recently launched Delay Insensitive Asynchronous Logic (DIAL™) to power machine intelligence on mobile and edge devices.
