Omni, a San Francisco, CA-based operating system for physical things, raised $25m in funding.
Backers included Highland Capital Partners and Ripple executives Stefan Thomas and Chris Larsen.
The comany intends to use the funds to expand beyond San Francisco and select parts of the Bay Area, where it is currently available.
Led by Founder and CEO Tom McLeod and COO Ryan Delk, Omni provides people with an OS to own and access things, share items with others, rent things from other members of the community, and earn extra money by renting out unused items, all without ever leaving home.
To date, the company has raised more than $40m in venture capital and through strategic partnerships.
