Threatcare, an Austin, Texas-based proactive cyber defense platform, raised $1.4m in seed funding.

The round was led by Moonshots Capital, with participation from Flyover Capital and Firebrand Ventures. As part of the funding, Craig Cummings, Co-founder and General Partner at Moonshots Capital, will join the Board of Directors.

The company intends to use the funds for recruiting, product development and onboarding new customers.

Led by Marcus Carey, Founder and CEO, Threatcare simplifies product evaluations, security controls monitoring, and training for security staff via Violet, a virtual cybersecurity professional. Violet is a cloud-based breach and attack simulation software platform that enables security teams, incident responders, and network forensic practitioners to reduce their attack surface by continuously monitoring their cybersecurity posture.
