Altitude Angel, a Reading, UK-based drone management platform and airspace integration startup, raised USD$4.5m in Series A funding.
The round was led by the Seraphim Space Fund, with participation from Accelerated Digital Ventures and Frequentis AG.
The company intends to use the funds to bring its GuardianUTM platform for U-Space and Unmanned Aircraft Traffic Management (UTM) into new territories and expand its on-the-ground commercial and engineering presence with new offices in Europe and North America.
Founded in December 2014 by Richard Parker, Altitude is an aviation technology company that creates global-scale solutions for the safe integration and use of fully autonomous drones into airspace worldwide. Supporting both U-Space and UTM, its cloud platform delivers services to drone operators, manufacturers and software developers and provides digital communications services to aviation stakeholders, national drone registration solutions and integrated identification services, to deliver comprehensive protected airspace management solutions with governments, regulatory bodies and ANSPs.
