Tamatem Raises $2.5M in Series A Funding

Tamatem, an Amman, Jordan-based maker of localized versions of popular games for Arabic speaking countries, raised $2.5m in Series A funding.

The round was led by Wamda Capital, with participation from Discovery Nusantara Capital, Raed Ventures, Vision Venture Capital, and Seed Equity Venture Partners.

The company intends to use the funds to sign deals with more international game developers and hire new people.

Led by founder and CEO Hussam Hammo, Tamatem is a MENA market focused mobile games publisher which partners with international studios and developers, take their games, localize them and make them culturally relevant for the Arabic gamer.
The startup focuses on publishing racing, drifting, RPG-MMO, strategy, puzzle and word and trivia games. Its portfolio includes VIP Tawla, VIP Baloot, Suqoor Al Ard, Shake the Metal Online, Down Shift, and Shake the Metal: Rush.

Tamatem also has offices in Mountain View, California, where it has been backed by 500 Startups.
