Turner Imaging Systems, an Orem, Utah-based developer of the Smart-C battery-powered mini C-arm, closed a seed funding round of undisclosed amount.
The round was completed by Radnet Management, Inc., the principal operating subsidiary of RadNet, Inc. (NASDAQ:RDNT), with participation from Cavendish Impact Capital and private investors. In conjunction with the funding, John V. Crues, III MD, Vice President and Medical Director of RadNet, joined Turner’s Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to finance operations, continue development efforts related to its innovative technology, and commercialization of the Smart-C Portable C-Arm upon regulatory approval from the US Food and Drug Administration.
Led by Dr. D. Clark Turner, PhD, President & CEO, Turner Imaging Systems develops and markets X-ray imaging systems that give the user the ability to acquire X-ray images wherever and whenever they are needed.
The company is a spin-out from Turner Innovations, a developer of novel medical technologies.
