WebEngage Receives Undisclosed Funding from Social Capital

WebEngage, a Mumbai, India-based marketing automation platform provider, received an undisclosed funding.

Social Capital, the California-based VC firm founded by Chamath Palihapitiya, provided the funding via the CaaS (Capital as a Service) vehicle.

Founded in 2011 by Avlesh Singh, CEO, WebEngage is a marketing cloud for consumer businesses including Flipkart, eBay, GoIbibo, Myntra, Sendgrid, Pluralsight, Taj Hotels, Conde Nast, Souq, etc. to visually design and implement their engagement workflow across multiple channels.

The company intends to use the funds to invest in machine learning technology to automatically suggest journeys to users based on their behavioral history, and enable customers to optimize based on global/local benchmarks, integrate with other ecosystem players, etc.
