Fishbrain Raises $13.5M Series B Funding

-

Fishbrain, a Stockholm, Sweden-based mobile app and social network for sport fishing, raised a $13.5m Series B funding.

The round, which brings total investment to $28m, was led by B Capital Group with participation from SoftBank Ventures Korea and existing investors Northzone and Industrifonden.

The company intends to use the funds to double its employees from 30 to 60 this year, accelerate user growth, and continue to build out its global fishing platform.

Led by CEO Johan Attby, Fishbrain is a mobile app and social network for fishing, providing everyone from beginner to pro anglers with tools and insights to enjoy the hobby. The app’s interactive map helps anglers find hot new fishing spots and see what other people are catching, with what bait and specifically where. Other features include Fish Species Recognition, marine mapping (provided by C-MAP), forecasts, bait recommendations and more.
The company boasts a social network of over 5 million anglers.
