Mark43, a New York City-based public safety platform, raised $38m in Series C funding.

The round – which brings total funding to $77.8m – was led by General Catalyst and Jim Breyer of Breyer Capital with participation from Spark Capital, Sound Ventures, Bezos Expeditions, Goldman Sachs, General David Petraeus, Innovation Endeavors, Govtech Fund and SV Angel.

The company plans to use the funding to accelerate software development, sales, and deployments.

Founded in 2012 by Scott Crouch, CEO, and now also led by David Mihalchik, Chief Growth Officer, and Manosh Chakravorty, Director of Global Sales, Mark43 provides a cloud-based public safety platform to let first responders access to reliable and actionable information.
The solution is used by dozens of police departments across the United States, spanning California, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington State, and the District of Columbia.
The company now has over 150 employees.
