PreVeil, a Boston, MA-based provider of private and protected email and files for businesses, raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding.
Spark Capital made the investment.
Co-founded by Sanjeev Verma and Randy Battat, PreVeil enterprises with private and protected email and files combining end to end encryption, distributed trust and elimination of passwords, which ensures data is protected even when the server is breached.
The company recently launched its PreVeil Drive, which encrypts files and lets users store, share, and access them anywhere.
PreVeil’s proprietary suite of encrypted solutions was based on research by a member of PreVeil’s founding team, Raluca Ada Popa, an assistant professor of computer science at UC Berkeley and a recent recipient of a 2018 Sloan Research Fellowship.
