Upskill Raises $17.2M in Funding

Upskill, a Washington, DC-based provider of enterprise augmented reality (AR) software, raised $17.2m in funding.

Backers included new investors Accenture and Cisco Investments, existing backers Boeing HorizonX, GE Ventures, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), and other industrial-focused investors.

The company intends to use the funds for growth and product development.

Led by Brian Ballard, co-founder and CEO, Upskill provides enterprise software for augmented reality devices in industrial settings. Used by companies such as GE and The Boeing Company, the company’s technology platform, Skylight, enhances the capabilities of hands-on workers to measurably improve business operations using AR across the organization, from the factory to the warehouse to the jobsite.

Upskill and Accenture also announced the formation of a strategic alliance which will enable the first to further expand the capabilities of the Accenture Extended Reality and Accenture Industry X.0 groups.
