London, UK-based private equity fund Volpi Capital closed its debut fund, at €185m ($228.9m).
Backed by a range of blue-chip, institutional investors from Europe and the USA, including insurance companies, pension funds and fund of funds, Volpi Capital Fund I invests in information and tech-enabled services companies in Europe.
The fund has already made three investments, including:
– Version 1, an Ireland-based international IT services company;
– Medinet, a UK provider of healthcare insourcing services; and
– Digital Barriers, a software solutions and cloud services business which manages the capture, analysis and streaming of live video, including video analytics and facial recognition solutions.
The firm is led by The Marco Sodi and Crevan O’Grady, two experienced private equity investors who combine over 50 years’ investment experience in the information and TMT space with a proven track record of long-term investing.
